The Blooming Bunch Floral Studio will guide you through the art of creating a kokedama – a Japanese moss ball planter – while Alison from The Urban Botanist demonstrates how to craft a stylish macramé plant hanger. You’ll learn the techniques step by step and leave with your own kokedama creation and macramé hanger to display at home. This workshop offers a fresh, sustainable way to bring greenery into your space – practical, attractive, and perfect for any plant lover.

what we believe in

Sustainable floristry

At The Blooming Bunch, sustainability is at the centre of every floral creation. The company has adopted methods and materials with a low environmental impact, starting with the sourcing stage and the use of locally-grown flowers, whenever possible. Moreover, there is a complete omission of the use of floral foam, otherwise known as ‘oasis’, the use of which is unfortunately still commonplace. Floral foam is a form of non-biodegradable, single-use plastic. A standard block is the equivalent of ten plastic carrier bags, which breaks down into microplastics after disposal, posing harm to both the natural environment and human health.

Farm to vase concept

Embrace the beauty of nature with our unique farm-to-vase concept, where the journey from soil to centerpiece is a celebration of freshness and sustainability. Nestled in the heart of our lush farm, each bloom is lovingly cultivated, handpicked, and artfully arranged to grace your space with the essence of authenticity. By eliminating long transportation routes, our farm-to-vase approach ensures that every petal is as vibrant as the fields they come from. It’s not just a bouquet; it’s a story told by the earth, a connection between the farm and your vase, and a commitment to bringing the beauty of the fields directly to your fingertips. Join us in appreciating the true essence of flowers, where each arrangement is a testament to the rich tapestry of nature, grown and crafted with care from our farm to your vase.

Zero waste / carbon neutrality

In an effort to reduce waste to the bare minimum, The Blooming Bunch composts any leftover flowers and offcuts, reuses materials and dries or presses flowers for ‘everlasting’ arrangements or floral frames, flower confetti and wreaths. Finally, its bouquets are wrapped in recyclable paper and bags, compostable twine and cellophane. Although commonly thought to be a plastic, cellophane is regenerated cellulose, which is therefore biodegradable. Currently, however, cellophane in Malta must be disposed of with general waste.

About the

Blooming Bunch

Welcome to The Blooming Bunch, a sustainable floristry brand based in Malta. Founded by Stephanie and Vivienne, two friends who share a passion for floristry and horticulture, this bespoke floral service is built on the fundamental core value of sustainability of sourcing and operations. To this end, The Blooming Bunch uses mostly locally-grown flowers, or those grown within the European continent, aiming to align its bouquets with the region’s seasonality, whilst reducing its carbon footprint. By supporting local growers, it also contributes to pollination efforts and promotes the availability of seasonal blooms. The Blooming Bunch’s mission is to bring the beauty of nature to its customers’ homes and special occasions. In its effort to minimise its environmental impact, it has taken steps to reduce its carbon footprint, eliminating the use of floral foam (commonly known as ‘oasis’), which is one of the most polluting and toxic products used in traditional floristry; in favour of using biodegradable materials in the preparation and delivery of its arrangements. The Blooming Bunch also aspires to act as an educational platform for both floristry and horticulture enthusiasts, promoting environmental consciousness.
